Russ Presson holds a M. Mus. Ed. From University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Bachelor of Music from Piedmont Bible College where he was voted member of Who’s Who among Students at American Colleges and Universities.  Mr. Presson’s experience includes 14 years teaching at Sheets Memorial Christian School where he was head of music including Band, Piano, Voice, Orff Schulwerk (Orff-Schulwerk Level II endorsement, UNCG), and Bible instruction; followed by Roanoke Valley Christian School for six years (Band, Chorus, and Bible).  This last 15 years he has taught at Eastern Montgomery High School near Roanoke Virginia, and several semesters as on-line professor of music for Hampton University.  Mr. Presson has performed with Dr. Earl Louder (the founding guest conductor of the NCCAA Band Festival in 1984,87);  Dr. Charles Clevenger Cedarville University, and numerous solo piano and vocal concerts.  Mr. Presson has performed in duet with Dr. Louder on French Horn and Euphonium.  Mr. Presson has performed for several seasons with the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra Chorus, and participated in NATS sessions at UNC Charlotte where Dr. George Shirley was the Master Instructor.  Mr. Presson was one of the five directors who agreed together to attempt the NCCAA Band festival in 1983; the NCCAA band festival is in its 35th consecutive season. Mr. Presson returned to conduct as the Founding director in 2017. Students from the schools mentioned have been successful in high school and collegiate professional musical endeavors.

Russ Presson resides in Roanoke, Virginia with his wife Marsha; and extended family.
