Find My Bus Route
MCPS has four enrollment strands; Auburn, Blacksburg, Christiansburg and Shawsville. The location of a student's permanent residence determines the school they will attend.
Attendance Zones
To find which attendance zone your child attends, you can contact our transportation department by email at transportation@mcps.org, by phone at 540-382-5151, or use the map below.
2024-2025 Bus Routes by Strand
Bus routes include a walking distance of up to 0.3 of a mile for elementary students and up to 0.5 of a mile for middle/high students. Every pick up site is evaluated for student safety. Parents are asked to check the bus routes carefully prior to the start of school and send students to the bus stop closest to their address.
For questions about routes or pick up times, contact the transportation department by email at transportation@mcps.org or by phone at 540-382-5151.

BusWhere is a mobile app that allows parents/guardians to see the progress of their child’s bus when it is traveling to and from home.
Parents can request a BusWhere login link by emailing transportation@mcps.org. Please include the student’s name, school of attendance, and pick up and drop off location(s). The login link will be sent via email when the BusWhere system syncs overnight.
If your child is a remote or virtual learner this year, or if your child is a car rider, you will not need the BusWhere app. We encourage families to use the times on our bus route lists (bus route Google link) if there are questions about bus pick up and arrival as these reflect the most up-to-date information.
