Hailey Larose

My name is Hailey Larose, and I will be teaching AP/DE Biology at EMHS for the 2025/2026 school year. I’m excited to contribute to the EMHS community and share my love of science through teaching and mentorship. Science has always been my passion! Before teaching, I earned my PhD in Plant Biology from Virginia Tech, where I studied the genetic basis of germination specificity in parasitic plants. My research journey has included postdoctoral work at the University of Michigan Medical School on germ cell development, as well as research on protein evolution and pheromone biosynthesis in stink bugs at Virginia Tech. I love helping students see that science isn’t just facts - it’s full of discovery, creativity, and surprises!
